Coolant Lines:
For complete cooling channel design, consult your tool maker. The basic rule of thumb for cooling channel design is to choose a diameter (D); larger diameters remove more
heat; place the cooling channel a distance of 1.5 – 2.0 times D from the surface of the mold; Pitch, the distance between each cooling channel, should be 2.5 – 5 times D. Make sure all cooling channels are equal distance from the cavity and core surfaces. Bubblers, Baffles, and Heat Pipes can be used to remove heat from the hard to reach cores. Materials such as Copper or Aluminum dissipate more heat than steel.
