In order to create a model that represents the preferences of a group, the Additive Utilitarian group modeling strategy (Masthoff, 2011) is adopted. The strategy sums the individual ratings for each item and produces a list of group ratings (the higher the sum is, the earlier the item appears in the list). The ranked list of items is exactly the same that would be produced when averaging the individual ratings, so this strategy is also called ‘Average strategy’. An example of how the strategy works is given in Table 3.
