3.2.1.1.3 Brightness
The display system shallprovide minimum average brightness at the time of acceptance test (with more than 300 hours projector lamp usage) as better than “6ft-L” for spherical dome and as better than 15 ft-L” for retro rear projection.
3.2.1.1.4 Display Refresh Rate
The display of the OTW visual scene shall be refreshed at a rate of at least 60 Hz for all scenes, it shall also display projector status or dome screen to using interface.
3.2.1.1.5 Contrast Ratio
The display system shall meet the minimum contrast ratio of 8:1 for spherical dome and 10:1 for retro rear projection across the entire field of view, when displaying the full-screen checker board which is satisfied with fivedegree. Contrast ratio measurements shall be made with a 50-percent duty-cycle pattern.
Contrast ratio shall be defined as
CR=W/B
Where
CR = contrast ratio
W = peak white brightness (measure in ft-L)
B = black brightness (measure in ft-L)
3.2.1.1.6 Color and Brightness Uniformity
The display system shall provide uniform color and brightness between channels, so that pilots don’t get distracted by Color and brightness of the display system, when changing channels.
Final decision on appropriate brightness criteria compliant with the flight training requirements shall be made by Supplier after consultation with KAI.
3.2.1.1.7 Edge Blending
The display system shall provide appropriately tuned color and brightness so that pilots don’t get distracted by shading effect. The blended scene shall not be able to recognize as a human eye in any time of day.
3.2.1.1.8 Night Scene
Pilots shall not get distracted by night scene effect caused by poor iris and edge blending control. The display system shall provide fully automated night scene control by IG or other controller in real time.
3.2.1.1.9 Automatic Calibration
The display system of spherical dome shallprovide an automatic calibration method for geometry, color and brightness uniformity across the entire field of view.
